Calculating Volumetric weight for Sea Freight.
Lenght x width x height (in centimeter) and divide by 6,000
Example
There are 6 boxes of all products, each box size 120 x 60 x 90 cm, with the total weight of all 6 boxes weighing (GROSS WEIGHT) 600 kg. The freight rate of transportation from Thailand (Bangkok) to India is 150 baht per kilogram.
calculation method
= 6 x (120 x 60 x 90 cms) / 6000
= 648 kg. (Volume Weight)
Compared with gross weight (600 kg.), which is lower, therefore, multiply the volumetric weight (648 kg.) by the freight rate.
**Therefore, you will have to pay the shipping cost 648 kg X 150 baht = 97,200 baht
Sea Freight Calculation
For LCL Shipment between Thailand - India
We shall compare the volumetric (cbm) and weight (kg) which one is higher.
Howe to calculate volumetric
Lenght x width x height (in centimeter) and divide by 1,000,000
Example
one carton having size of 30 x 40 x 50 cm and having weight of 30 kg
Therefore, 30 x 40 x 50 and divide by 1,000,000 = 0.06 cbm
later use cmb received multiply with 150, therefore 0.06 x 150 = 9 kg.
If weight per volumetric is less than 150 kg we will charge per Kilogram.
In this case weight per volumetric is 9kg and actual wegiht is 30 kg, higher number is 30 kg.
Therefore, 30 kg x THB 100 (freight charge) = THB 3000
